What this Royalty-Free License Covers:
Web Site Use: Gary’s music is perfect for websites and online demos! For $10 per piece of music, you get unlimited use of the licensed piece to stream on your web site – provided the song can’t be downloaded by your visitors (you can embed the music in a secure player to prevent this). You must also provide a clear music credit to “Gary Girouard” with a link back to the nakedpiano.com web site. Something like this… “The piano music you’re hearing is from “The Naked Piano” courtesy of Gary Girouard”
Limit: You can license as many individual pieces/tracks as you like at $10 each, but each license is good for one web site. In other words, two web sites using the same piece of music would require two licenses. The license is valid for the purchaser only and can’t be transferred.

Limit: This license assumes your video is less than 10 minutes long… it doesn’t cover longer films. You can license as many individual pieces/tracks as you like, but each license is good for one video. In other words, two videos using the same piece of music would require two licenses. 2. Manufactured CD / DVD / Media / Slide Show Use: Gary’s music is perfect for your personal slide show or Multi-Media project! So long as this is a small, independent project (less than 100 copies made), you can use the piece(s) you license freely with the standard license fee of $10 per song. Examples would be a PowerPoint presentation, a Birthday or Anniversary slide show, etc.. A credit should appear in the project like this…

Limit: 100 copies. If you intend to make more than 100 copies, contact Gary at garyg@nakedpiano.com with the specifics of your project for a quote. Also note, this does not cover film projects or long play video. This particular license is intended for shorter media projects, slide shows, power point presentations, etc. The license is valid for the purchaser only and is non-transferable.

3. Long Film / Motion Picture / Video Use: Gary’s music is an affordable and impactful solution for independent film projects! So long as yours is a smaller, independent project (that means a non-commercial project that won’t appear on broadcast television or distributed on a mass scale via DVD), you can use the piece(s) you license at a rate of $99 per piece. A credit should appear in the project as follows…

The license is valid for the purchaser only and is non-transferable.

5. Radio Spots: Gary’s music is a perfect backdrop for your Radio ad spot! Solo piano music works wonderfully with the spoken voice, making “the Naked Piano” a perfect compliment for your radio message. You can use one of Gary’s piano pieces in your radio spot for $10 per spot if it is a limited run in a single market or region. To license a piece of music for unlimited use or duration, or for national radio use in all markets, please review the “Standard Licensing” info at the bottom of this page or contact Gary at garyg@nakedpiano.com with the specifics of your project.
Limit: Due to radio broadcasting and webcasting regulations, this license only covers Gary’s original piano music. If you want to use a piece that’s not one of Gary’s original tunes, contact Gary at garyg@nakedpiano.com for help with that. The license is valid for the purchaser only and is non-transferable.

What These Licenses Don’t Cover:
- Mass Production/Distribution: Piece(s) under this license agreement can’t be used in a mass-produced commercial product (100 or more units) or distributed on the Internet via iTunes or similar music services. More than 100 units requires a different license and any kind of mass distribution on the Internet needs special consideration. For larger projects, please review the “Standard Licensing” information below or contact Gary at garyg@nakedpiano.com with the specifics of your project.
- Commercial Theater or Television: Use of Gary’s piano music in a theatrical film or television broadcast is not covered by these licenses. For use of Gary’s music in commercial film or television, see the “Standard Licensing” information below or contact Gary at garyg@nakedpiano.com with the specifics for a quote.
- Adult Themes: Piece(s) licensed cannot be included in projects that may be inappropriate for children (containing excessive violence, profanity, sex or nudity). If your project contains any of these elements, but you still feel the music is appropriate, please contact Gary at garyg@nakedpiano.com with the specifics.
- Sharing/Trading/Downloading: Piece(s) licensed cannot be redistributed, traded, made available for download, or otherwise transferred to anyone else. Nor can they be included in a project which allows the end-customer to transfer the piece(s) for personal use.
- Reselling: Music pieces cannot be resold as songs. In other words, you can’t license Gary’s music, create your own CD or DVD of this music, and resell it as your own product. That is a blatant copyright violation.
Other stipulations:
- Note when you license a piece, you don’t own it. You are licensing it for use. There is a legal difference in the copyright sense. If you purchase a CD, obviously you own the CD – but you don’t own the copyright to the music itself.
- These licenses are for Gary’s original music only. Use of cover songs that were not originally written by Gary may require additional licensing from third parties.
- The music you license cannot be the main content of your product (see #5 above). This license is designed to allow you to use Gary’s music simply to compliment your existing product or project.
- This license covers a single user only. It cannot be transferred to another party.

How does the actual license work? We will create a written estimate for you that will illustrate the details of your license. Once you approve the estimate, we will then create a standard license agreement and invoice for you. The License Agreement will provide the details of the musical license. The invoice provides your payment terms. Note: Payment is due before the license goes into effect.
