“Once”

Title/Theme: “Once”; Key/Structure: Eb Major

Comment about this piece:  This was a free-flow improv I recorded last week. “Once” holds onto hope and faith – perhaps even some nostalgia – as we face adversity.

I was just thinking about you and there you were in my inbox! Another great song! Still waiting for your CD compilation of all the ones you’ve sent me to download. I like to take CDs to my clients’ homes and listen while I cook for them. Hope you’re doing well Gary!

I had one huge problem with your latest piano meditation of Once in that it ended way too soon.

Thank you for this gift Gary, it is so evocative. I used to have a favourite (I’m Canadian, we spell it that way) place on a bluff where I’d sit and watch the Bow River float by down below, blue sky above, and I think “Once” would have been a very suitable soundtrack for those times.

thanks Rochelle – sounds like a peaceful memory. Soon, we can return to our favorite places – with a different set of eyes.
